Tour Itineraries

  • Day 1

    In the morning or upon arrival, our driver-guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport and transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali. Upon arrival, check in, relax, and unwind, preparing for the upcoming days of adventure and exploration in Rwanda.

  • Day 2

    After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive to Akagera National Park, approximately a 3-hour journey. Along the way, enjoy the scenic beauty of Rwanda’s Eastern Province. Upon arrival, register at the park, then embark on a short game drive as you head to your accommodation. Check in, take lunch, and relax before continuing with another game drive, making your way to Lake Ihema for a one-hour boat ride. Spot aquatic animals, birds, and elephants along the lake. After the boat ride, continue your game drive to explore more of the park’s wildlife. In the evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 3

    In the early morning, embark on a short morning game drive, spotting predators still hunting in the wild. After this exciting drive, return to your accommodation to prepare for the day, enjoy breakfast, and check out. Continue with a full-day game drive from the southern to the northern part of the park, spotting the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros—along with antelopes, giraffes, and other wildlife. After reaching the northern park exit, drive back to Kigali and check in at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day 4

    In the late morning, after breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive to the southern part of Rwanda. Visit the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza District and the Ethnographic Museum in Huye District. These museums showcase Rwanda’s rich history and culture, from pre-colonial times through the colonial period and beyond. After exploring the museums, continue your journey to Nyungwe National Park, check in to your accommodation, relax, and overnight stay, preparing for the adventures of the next day.

  • Day 5

    In the late morning, after breakfast, your driver-guide will take you to the park reception, where you will meet your guide and receive a short briefing for the day’s activities. Embark on an adventure above Nyungwe National Park, enjoying the rope course, zipline, and canopy walkway, taking in breathtaking views of the forest from above. After the aerial activities, have lunch, followed by a short nature walk through the lush rainforest to explore the flora and fauna on the forest floor. Return to your accommodation in the late afternoon for relaxation and an overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

  • Day 6

    In the morning, after breakfast, head to Nyungwe National Park where you will meet your guide and embark on a rainforest adventure to the waterfall. Enjoy a scenic walk through the dense forest, learning about the flora and fauna along the way. After the waterfall experience, return for lunch and some relaxation at your accommodation. In the afternoon, dive back into the forest for Colobus monkey trekking, observing these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. Return to your accommodation in the evening to refresh, relax, enjoy dinner, and overnight stay.

  • Day 7

    In the early morning, head to the Nyungwe National Park headquarters to meet your guide and embark on a chimpanzee trekking adventure. Explore the dense rainforest, observing these fascinating primates in their natural habitat, while enjoying the fresh air and beauty of the forest. After the trek, return to your accommodation, relax, and have lunch before checking out. Drive to Karongi on Lake Kivu, check in to your accommodation, and unwind for a short while. In the afternoon, embark on a boat ride on Lake Kivu, exploring some of the islands, including Napoleon Island, while taking in the stunning scenery. The boat ride lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Afterward, relax on the lakeshore, enjoy dinner, and return to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

  • Day 8

    In the late morning, enjoy breakfast on the shores of Lake Kivu, relax and take in the accommodation services, then go for a short walk along the lake. Afterward, depart for Gisenyi, a scenic 3-hour drive. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, relax, and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a sunset boat ride on Lake Kivu, enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquil waters. Return to your accommodation near the lake, unwind, and enjoy an overnight stay.

  • Day 9

    In the late morning, embark on a boat ride on Lake Kivu to visit some of the islands and experience the hot springs. After the adventure, return to your accommodation for lunch and check out. Continue the drive to Ibere rya Bigogwe, a unique place in Rwanda known for its rolling green hills and fresh air. Immerse yourself in the cowboys’ lifestyle, enjoy traditional songs, dances, and local food, and drink fresh milk straight from the cow. In the evening, camp at Bigogwe, enjoy the natural surroundings, and spend the overnight stay under the stars.

  • Day 10

    In the morning, experience the morning activities of the cowboys, including milking cows and traditional chores, followed by breakfast. After this unique experience, continue your journey to Musanze, a vibrant city in northern Rwanda. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation, relax, and enjoy lunch. In the late afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus by Dian Fossey, where you will learn about Gorilla conservation and the impactful work done by Dian Fossey. Return to your accommodation for an overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

  • Day 11

    In the early morning, you will head to the park headquarters for registration, a detailed briefing, and to meet your professional guide. Afterwards, embark into the lush rainforest to trek the majestic Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat. Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing, interacting, and learning about their behavior. After this unforgettable trek, return to your accommodation to relax, unwind, and enjoy the services, reflecting on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

  • Day 12

    In the early morning, you will return to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for briefing, registration, and to meet your guide. You will then enter the lush forest to trek the playful Golden Monkeys in their natural habitat. Once found, you will spend one hour observing and interacting with these vibrant primates. After the trek, return to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to immerse yourself in traditional Rwandan culture and the Gorilla Guardians community. You will then return to your accommodation for an overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences.

  • Day 13

    In the late morning, after breakfast and some time to refresh, you will depart for Kigali. Along the way, you will enjoy the scenic landscapes of Rwanda’s Northern Province, with its rolling hills and lush greenery. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will check in to your accommodation, relax, and unwind after the journey.

  • Day 14

    In the late morning, our driver will pick you up from your accommodation and head to the Kigali Genocide Memorial site, a place that preserves the history of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Here, you will learn more about Rwanda’s past and its journey of recovery. Next, you will visit Nyandungu Eco Park, Rwanda’s first restored wetland, where you will discover the country’s efforts in environmental conservation. You will also have lunch at the park. After lunch, you will head to Kimironko Market to shop for gifts, souvenirs, and experience the vibrant local market. Finally, you will return to your accommodation or proceed to the airport for departure.
