  • Day 1

    Your day begins early with a transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park, a scenic drive of about 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll register and embark on an exciting game drive in search of the Big Five — lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards — along with giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and a wide variety of bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. Later, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you can spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and birds such as the African fish eagle. Take in the breathtaking views of the park’s savannahs, lakes, and rolling hills as you explore. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch within the park before continuing your game drive toward the northern section, exiting the park as your adventure concludes.
