Nyungwe National Park spans over 1,019 km² and is one of Africa’s oldest and most biodiverse rainforests. It is home to more than 1,068 plant species, including majestic mahogany trees, and hosts a remarkable range of wildlife. The park shelters 13 primate species, such as chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons. Bird enthusiasts will be captivated by over 322 bird species, including rare Albertine Rift endemics like the Great Blue Turaco and the Albertine Owlet. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including chimpanzee trekking, walking across the iconic canopy walkway (160 meters long and suspended 70 meters above the forest floor), hiking to beautiful waterfalls, experiencing the thrilling zipline adventure, and exploring scenic tea plantations.   • Day 1

    Begin your first day with a scenic drive from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park, a journey that takes approximately five to six hours through Rwanda’s rolling hills and breathtaking countryside. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and take some time to relax, enjoying the fresh mountain air and serene natural surroundings. In the afternoon, set out on a gentle hike along one of the park’s trails leading to a beautiful waterfall — a perfect introduction to Nyungwe’s rich flora and fauna. Take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest as you explore this lush environment.   • Day 2

    Begin your second day early in the morning with an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure, guided by experienced rangers through Nyungwe’s dense rainforest. Observe these incredible primates up close as they play, feed, and interact in their natural habitat — a truly unforgettable experience. After lunch, set out for the famous Canopy Walk, a 160-meter-long bridge suspended 70 meters above the forest floor, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the lush rainforest below. Later in the evening, return to your accommodation to unwind, relax, and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature.

  • Day 3

    On the third day, start early with a birdwatching excursion, exploring the diverse species that inhabit Nyungwe’s lush rainforest. Next, head to the Uwinka reception area for an exhilarating zipline adventure, offering thrilling views of the forest canopy. Afterward, enjoy lunch and check out from your accommodation. Before leaving Nyungwe National Park, visit the local tea plantations to learn about the tea-growing process and savor a fresh cup of tea amidst the beautiful surroundings.
